Book speaking

Keynotes, panels, roundtables and workshops on cloud economics, AI infrastructure, edge and security. What I cover and how I work — the form is further down.

What I speak about

Four threads run through all of it: cloud economics, AI infrastructure, edge, and security. The sessions that get booked come off the back of the strategy insights I write here — where cloud spend actually leaks and what FinOps looks like once the dashboard phase is over; the economics of inference, and the point at which an API model stops earning its cost against a smaller self-hosted one; agentic architecture, where the hard problems are identity, authorisation and observability rather than model choice; sovereignty and repatriation treated as portfolio decisions rather than ideology; and API security now the caller is as likely to be an agent as an app. A talk normally starts from one of those and gets re-cut around your theme.

Formats

  • Keynote — 30 to 60 minutes, built for your programme rather than lifted from a deck I already own.
  • Panel and fireside chat — the format I'm asked for most often. Anywhere from a 20-minute fireside to a 75-minute debate.
  • Roundtable and closed-door session — small groups, off the record, and usually the most useful hour on the agenda.
  • Workshop — half or full day, working the frameworks against your own numbers rather than a case study.

Who it lands with

The best fit is a mixed senior room — engineering leadership with finance or the C-suite in it, which is where the cost and architecture arguments meet. It works just as well with a single specialism: CISOs and security leaders, broadcast and media engineering leadership, data and AI leaders moving from pilots into production. It plays to practitioner audiences at developer conferences too, though the framing changes: engineers want the mechanics, executives want the trade-off. Tell me which room I'm walking into. The same API security session ran in Abu Dhabi and Dubai five days apart and came out materially different, because the second room pushed harder on what changes when agents call your APIs.

Where I've spoken

17 engagements are listed on this site, across France, Germany, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom — Messe Berlin, Tobacco Dock, IFEMA Madrid, the Business Design Centre, and a fair number of hotel ballrooms. The full list, with a recap of what was said in each room, is on the speaking page, and the speaking map shows where.

Practicalities

I travel across Europe and the Middle East for in-person events, and I'll do hybrid and virtual sessions. What helps most in an enquiry: the date and location, the format and slot length, who is in the room and how senior, the theme you want me to hit, and whether you're recording it and where it will be published. I speak as a practitioner, not on anyone's behalf: the talks are vendor-agnostic and I don't deliver product pitches.
